Our Swags & Tails

Swags and tails date back centuries. The film Gone With The Wind showed swags and tails in all their glory. In the 1800’s they really knew how to dress the smallest to the largest window with the glamorous style. Swags and Tails are one of my favourites because the style really dresses the window in splendour.

There is a wide variation of swags and tails. You can have one large swag across your window or break it down to make four or five depending on your window size. The tails are also a beautiful part of this style, you can line it with a contrasting colour or line it with the same fabric as the front. To finish off swags and tails I like to add fringing. I feel it finishes off the style perfectly.

You can also interline swags and tails, this gives them that extra bit of structure, warmth and a luxurious feel. Sometimes I think customers are put off by swags and tails in fear that they will block natural light. I’ve found that if you place the swags and tails onto the wall more it will create an illusion of a larger window and enable natural light to shine through.
